Orange is easily reached from Sydney by road in about 3.5 hours. Rex Airlines , Australia Wide Coaches, and Countrylink provide several daily connections between Sydney and Orange. The scenic and easy drive from Canberra to Orange takes about 3 hours.

With its rich volcanic soils and four distinct seasons, the Orange region is known as Australia’s Colour City. Surrounded by a patchwork of orchards, vineyards, rolling farmland and native bush, Orange is a superb holiday or business destination for a weekend, a few days or longer.

A destination for gourmets and winelovers, Orange is home to restaurants, cafes, wine bars, and cellar doors that are sure to delight the most discerning palate. Several food and wine themed festivals are held each year, and the Orange Farmers’ Market takes place on the second Saturday every month.

Shops are plentiful, from niche boutiques to major retail chains. Theatregoers can enjoy local and national productions at Orange Civic Theatre and movies at the cinema. Arts and crafts are exhibited at several galleries and shops.

Walks to suit people of all ages, abilities and interests in and around Orange include Heritage Trails, Orange Botanic Gardens, bushwalks on Mt Canobolas, and many others. Nearby Orange there are several towns and villages, each with its own unique character and attractions, including Lucknow, Millthorpe, Blayney, Carcoar, Canowindra, Cowra, and Molong. Further afield but still easily reached by road from Orange are Bathurst, Cowra, and Wellington.
